Received text. Had received same type of text years ago (fraud alert), so this was labeled coming from Wells Fargo Fraud (as it was already in my contacts). But the language format was not the same as my usual bank texts. And I didn’t recognize the number that it said to call. So I went online to see what number this was. 2/3 reported it as scam, 1/3 correctly confirmed it was legit Wells Fargo. I called the main number, the agent confirmed that the number was coming from the Fraud Department. Was informed that a company (I purchased from) was trying to make a valid charge, but had incorrectly entered numerous times until they did it right, and that flagged the Fraud Department. Sadly, this is being identified as a scam number. I guess it’s great that people are being careful and diligent. But this is a valid number that is trying to confirm with you about some recent charges. And if you don’t comply, they might not approve legitimate purchases you’ve made and may freeze your account, until you contact them. So it’s good people are being careful, but call Wells Fargo’s main number to be absolutely sure.
